Indigo is interested in CRISPR-based approaches to understand and target neurological disease. He earned a PhD in Neuroscience from Martin Kampmann's lab at UCSF where he investigated neurodegenerative disease in iPSC-derived neurons and astrocytes and developed a method for large-scale CRISPR screens in the live murine brain. Previously, he was a research associate in Shane Liddelow’s lab at NYU where he studied astrocyte reactivity. He graduated with a BS/MS in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University where he researched neuroimmunology and worked at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development's human brain bank.
